Musical world tour "Around the world in 80 bars" for your project days

On our musical journey around the world, we transform your entire school or kindergarten into a grandiose drumming theatre! Music knows neither national borders nor language barriers! For several exciting days, the children musically roam through different continents and discover different cultures, music and dance styles. In the process, all the children grow together into a unique community as they work together towards a performance that will be performed "live" at the end. In addition to learning new rhythms on the cajons we bring along, the children have the task of making their own matching stage costumes and becoming artistically active in creating a stage set. For parents, teachers and especially the children, this is unforgettable fun and a very colourful event. Perfect for project days, project weeks or holiday events!

The musical world tour can be implemented on one or several days. Here we adapt the rehearsals and the corresponding performance to your timetable.

Example of the project days:

At the beginning, the children are welcomed and the course of the project is explained. In the course of the project we will discover the big continents of our world and work out a performance with dance, singing and drumming fitting to the continent. We generally offer two options for the performance on site:

All together: Every day a new continent is explored and tested together in the group. The children study several performances together. The large group works together on their costumes and background. At the end, the final concert takes place in a large group.
In groups: The children are divided into groups and each group tries out their own continent and makes their own costumes. At the final concert, all groups come together and accompany their fellow participants on the journey to their continent. Here, each group performs its own continent, which, together with the others, create a total work of art.
"Around the World in 80 Beats" is a drumming participatory theatre that tells about our different continents and cultures. The children go on a little trip around the world, get to know the different musical styles and dances and learn interesting facts about other cultures.

Things to know about the musical world tour

Basically, we can implement the musical world tour in different ways on site. Whether as a one-day project or a project lasting several days during the project days. Everything is possible, but requires different preparations in the organisation.

  • We recommend always starting the day with a joint warm-up with all the children. This can be done in the form of a warm-up or as a joint drumming workshop.
  • While one group practices on their own performance, the other groups tinker and paint on a stage set as well as costumes for the performance. Depending on how many artists we have on site, the more groups we can take care of.
  • We will bring drums (drum stools, cajons) in sufficient numbers for all children and teachers.
  • For each group, children can be selected as speakers who will speak a short text about the corresponding continent into a microphone before the group performance. We also need one child as a narrator. It would be good to think about which children should speak the texts in advance. We would be happy to send the texts in advance so that they can be practised.
  • We adapt the rehearsals and the performance to the timetable of your institution or school.
  • We end each day as it began: with a joint conclusion, during which we rehearse the complete drum-along theatre and strengthen the community.
The most fun, however, is for the children to make their own costumes for their performance, which they will wear for the performance. We will be happy to support you with ideas or create the outfit and stage design with the children.
